The Academy of Places'Brand

 

AKADEMIA MARKI MIEJSC

A special educational-training offer by Gdynia Development Agency, which is directed at council workers, cultural, educational and sport institutions, societies and entities, which are heavily engaged in marketing activities concentrated on promotion and creating an attractive places’ brand (including the marketing of tourist attractions, events and infrastructure).

The Academy of Places Brand represents the idea of creation and development of a modern and progressive educational platform, which ensures an effective transfer of newest knowledge, phenomena, practical experiences and technological innovations in territorial marketing.

Our aim is to support the creation processes of the professional personnel in both councils and city promoting organisations. The professional personnel includes managers of: brand, tourist attractions and products, image management, integrated public transport processes, as well as chiefs of network and joined programmes, operating in regional, countrywide, and international partnerships.

The Academy of Places Brand is financially independent initiative, open to partnership with any urban centre in Poland and in the world, including universities. The Strategic Partners of the Academy and the co-founders of the training offer are: Brief4Poland from Warsaw, Pomeranian Regional Tourism Organisation and Landbrand from Poznan.

The topics of the first trainings and meetings The Academy of Places Brand Round 1:

  1. The Revolution! Narrative Marketing, the way of describing place’s brand – Edi Pyrek – the training took place on November 26th, 2009
  2. Legible City, how the visual identification, CIS (City Information System) and unique symbolism of the city discover its genius loci – Hubert Gonera, Jacek Debis – the training took place on December 14th, 2009
  3. Become no 1 – in the web, efficient E-marketing of places’, regions’, products’ and attractions’ brand – Wojciech Kreft – the training took place on December, 15th; the repetition of the training to take place on January 28th, 2010 and part 2, advanced concepts, to take place on January 29th, 2010
  4. Event Marketing -  create an unprecedented brand event, the marketing of festivals and high culture events,  the marketing of sport events – Adam Mikołajczyk, Jacek Debis – the training took place on January 14th, 2010
  5. Places Brand alive and appreciated in media PR and PUBLICITY 20x20 good practices and rules you need to know about – Wojciech Kreft, Adam Mikołajczyk – the training took place on January 15th, 2010
  6. Implemented Marketing the brand is in people, let us implement it unconventionally and with passion Hubert Gonera, Jacek Debis the training took place on January 21st, 2010

MAIN CHARACTERISTICS OF ACADEMY,S OFFER:

  • Time and price accessibility the independence of the EU financial cycles, the possibility of scheduling  private, individual training blocks within the School. The price of a 1-day training is 400 PLN (+VAT) and it comprises of 5-6 hours of lectures and workshops, materials for lectures and catering. There is a 25% discount when signing up for minimum 2 trainings; 10% discount for PROT members.
  • 12 topics are covered in a semester. They are prepared specifically for the Academy of Places’ Brands – the place marketing changes the world! Sign up for single or block trainings. The possibility of extra training dates.
  • The atmosphere trainings take place in the modernistic Centre of Gdynia, where you will find yourself in the elite group of place’s marketers
  • The catering from Gdynia’s Culinary Route
  • For those interested the possibility of the brand chat by the seaside (from Spring onwards)
  • Individual classes for groups and project teams
  • Interdisciplinarity of the subject – the combining of various concepts, including city spaces, cultures, marketing and project organization

PROJECT FEATURES:

  • This is an on-going project – the classes take place at least once a week, with holiday breaks. The nearest dates of training are January 21st, January 27th, and January 28th, 2010
  • Groups consist of 8-12 people
  • The price of a 1-day training is 400 PLN (+VAT) and it comprises of 5-6 hours of lectures and workshops, materials for lectures and catering. There is a 25% discount when signing up for minimum 2 trainings; 10% discount for PROT members. The discounts do not sum up.
  • The trainings take place on a daily system – 1-day training (Thursdays and/or Fridays) or blocks of 2-day training (Thursday and Friday)
  • The price includes catering from Gdynia Culinary Route
  • The trainings take place in the modernistic Centre of Gdynia, Świętojańska 53/8 or in case of larger groups, in one of the meeting rooms in one of Tri-City’s hotels
  • The possibility of discounts for accommodation in Tri-Citys hotels and guesthouses for participants outside of the Tri-City
  • The possibility of scheduling independent training blocks
